Reflecting after the Brisbane Mind Body and Spirit Festival, made me realise how much our own energy is that which creates the interactions around us. I am blessed to have a show on the main stage and I’m always mindful of that.
I really pride myself in showing up as open, heartfelt and really down to earth, because to me that creates connection, well in my mind it does.
I believe we are all different with our approach and I always value others when I get to see how they show up too. I try to get time to watch others on the stage as well, as I enjoy supporting them.
I also always go shopping because I appreciate the effort the businesses put into making the MBS Festival a success and supporting them is showing them that. I was shopping at a stand I often get my oils from and each state has different people manning the stands, I got chatting to one of the ladies and she was so lovely giving feedback that they had seen my shows and she just loved my energy and felt I worked from the heart so well. This was a great compliment to me and exactly how I feel when I’m on stage and then I noticed her name badge and recognised her from a centre I used to visit when I first started my spiritual journey. When I said to her, “I know you and you were always highly regarded,” she was blown away. You could see it was confirmation of how she was well known in the industry for her talents . I was wrapped to be able to share that with her and the ‘ feel good feeling ‘ was shared between us. This all started because of her giving me the greatest compliment.
So it was interesting, as this started the theme for the weekend, or maybe it was towards the end of the weekend, I’m not sure, but it sure cemented the message.
I also really enjoyed chatting with Florence King, a medium who has been in the industry for years and also on the main stage at MBS along with her daughter. And when I went to go past her stand, she was free (which is rare as she is always busy), so I went up introduced myself and shared how great it was meeting someone with her following, experience and years of service to spirit. She suddenly became emotional which was so beautiful and she shared how hard it can be in this industry to make positive connections.
I felt very honoured that she shared with me and was so open, what a great connection!
I didn’t get to catch up with Jason, another medium who has been in the industry for years and does a great job on stage but I’m sure I will at some point.
These are just a couple of the many mediums that do platform events, and I instantly felt a connection with the way they were so humble.
For the most part I’m new to the Main Stage for MBS and this weekend was a reminder to give credit to those who have walked a similar path for so long before me, and to have open conversations with your peers whoever they are. Also connect with others and share who you are because that’s the way we can bring the positive, supporting and truly amazing energy that really WE ALL SHARE together!
No one is above or below anyone else, and this week was my mum in spirits’ birthday and in her words, “if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all,” is a great reminder to just be kind to each other.
