EMBODIMENT IN BUSINESS by Abbey Rose

What is embodiment in business?

When I think about embodiment in business, I envision our physical bodies. The highs, the lows, the fuss, the noise and the craziness that we experience within ourselves, we also experience within our business.

The issue is that it’s very easy to not be in our bodies, and instead, use our business as a way to ESCAPE from our bodies. And this is where the wheels start to fall off.

Over the past few months especially, we have been traversing huge amounts of growth, and with this comes triggers and all sorts of chaos. What this means is that this is the optimum time for us to be embodying our business; but instead, we’re turning to our business as a way to escape our bodies and the chaos that we’re experiencing.

So, how do we make embodiment in our business an active practice?

Now that you’re aware of it, you will begin to catch yourself trying to escape and will start tuning those energies into your business, instead of using your business as a block.

But also, the way everyone practices embodiment in their business is different and relative to each individual.

There are three primary processes that can be applied though, so choose the ones that resonate with you the most and begin to apply them to your embodiment process:

  1. Become aware of the actions you take in your business. Are you working hard to escape reality? Are you taking time for yourself, but taking too much time for yourself? Are you taking the time to sync up with your energies so there’s a healthy balance between your business and your life?
  2. Use your senses within your business. How can your senses be applied to your business? Are you looking at what needs to be done or are you procrastinating? What words are you allowing yourself to listen to? Are they productive within your business? How is your body reacting to the situations you’re in? Does your mouth taste bitter when you think about a specific project or client? Become aware of your senses and utilise them.
  3. Take note of your emotions. Have you been feeling anxious lately? Have you been feeling excited lately? How is that coming across in your business? Is your personal life affecting your business more than what it should be? When you stop trying to push your emotions down and actually let yourself experience them, then you’re going to experience your business in ways you never have before.

When you begin to really accept that embodiment in business means embodying all parts of yourself in all parts of your life, then you’re going to be experiencing growth beyond what you’ve experienced before.

It is when you stop blocking yourself, you allow yourself to grow.

And that’s what embodiment in business means.
