Have you ever had a connection that changed not only your life but the life of others? by LK Tommi

Would you agree that we have millions or even trillions of connections in life…we have connections to ourselves…connections to others…connections to objects…connections to the world…. connections to the greater universe, God, Buddha or another dimension that we can not see…but we experience…and connections to every experience that we have in life.

Have you ever stopped to think about the connection to wellbeing and what it truly means to be fully connected to resilience?

All knowledge is connected to all other knowledge…the fun is making the connections.

Connections are the most powerful experiences we can have in life…Let me explain a connection that I made when working with young people.

It happened purely by accident, while I was teaching a group of 12-year-old boys, some years ago now.

The boys seemed to be surrounded by adults, who while well intentioned, just wanted to protect them from real life.

They just wanted them to get on with life in general, do their schoolwork quietly and generally be happy.

I love using a white board when I’m teaching as I’ve found it enhances connections and makes our ‘thinking visible’ for the whole world to see. When our thinking is visible that is when we make the biggest discoveries in life…as I found out that day.

As, when you can see something written down, it’s far easier to make connections in a logical manner.

Here’s what I wrote that day:

Positive energy ~ positive thoughts ~positive emotions ~ positive experiences

Negative energy ~ negative thoughts ~ negative emotions ~ negative experiences

Then we saw it!

We’d actually created a mathematical formula.

One that explained how our thoughts, emotions and experiences all connected together.

I was gobsmacked!

I asked the boys to help me with a little experiment. We needed to prove that the formula worked.

They eagerly took up the challenge…

Sometime later, one very excited boy came rushing back saying, “It worked. It worked!”

One by one, they came back excitedly, reporting similar findings.

After some minor adjustments, we collectively came up with..

“The formula for positive life experiences”

From that day on, I’ve used that very same mathematical formula, to explain how our energy, thoughts and emotions connect to the experiences we have in life.

Do you have a formula to understand the connection from us to the life experiences we have?

This formula helps us to create a connected life that we want to experience.

Have you noticed the number of times I have used the word ‘connections’ in this article and did you know that the word connection is another word for relationship?

Even Winnie the Pooh…in his wisdom knew the power of connections…”If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay forever.”

Another great story book to share with our young people about connections is, “The Invisible String” by Patrice Karst. In this story a mother tells her two children that they’re all connected by an invisible string. “That’s impossible!” the children insist, but still, they want to know more: “What kind of string?” The answer is the simple truth that binds us all: An Invisible String made of love.

One of the things I am most passionate about is helping young people understand the connections or relationship between, their thoughts, energy and emotions and how this has a connection to the experiences they have in life.

Imagine teaching this to your young person from a young age…we don’t have to wait until we are adults to make these connections. We can teach our young person these connections now to help them move through life with ease and grace. I know that is what I want for my children, grandchildren and the children of the next generation. Let’s teach them the connections of life now.

Please connect with me…..If you would like to learn more about how you or your young person can make these connections to develop a relationship with their true self. Please contact with me through Messenger on my Facebook page LK Tommi or through my website www.thetommiconnection.com.au
