Mastering the Art of Budgeting by Abbey Rose

When it comes to financial well-being, we all want to feel amazing! But let’s be honest, just the thought of budgeting makes most people feel uneasy.

That’s because traditional budgeting methods just don’t work. Mostly because the moment you’ve set a budget it becomes obsolete. And this only leads to you feeling guilty and kind of ashamed at your inability to stick to it.

The main reason for that is that even though there are practical aspects to budgeting and cash flows, there are also very strong spiritual and emotional aspects too.

Traditional budgets just don’t align with our psychology of spending. The reason why they become outdated the moment we set them is because life is full of surprises. No matter how well you try to plan there will always be unexpected expenses or even unexpected money coming in!

That’s why you don’t need a budget – you need something way more empowering. You need a strategy.

Four Rules for a Powerful Cashflow Strategy

A Cash Flow Strategy is not about the numbers and the budget, it’s about creating a system and processes that make you feel amazing.

There are four rules to create a cash flow strategy that can help you take back control over your finances and start creating all-around abundance in your life.

RULE NUMBER ONE – Percentages Instead of Dollar Amounts

Firstly, you need to stop looking at those dollar amounts and switch to looking at the percentages instead.

It doesn’t matter if you earn 500 or 5,000 dollars, it’s about how you allocate those percentages to different areas of your life.

Financial management is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and when you focus on the percentage instead of the amount, you craft the strategy around your own needs.

This fresh new approach will open you up psychologically and help you to start thinking differently about your finances. It will also curb any feelings of guilt or shame you may have experienced when you focused on dollar amounts.

RULE NUMBER TWO- Use the Past to Predict the Future

You need to be aware of and understand your financial behaviour.

Your past financial behaviour is a good indicator of your future financial behaviour. It may seem daunting to face the numbers and take responsibility, but because of rule number one and your focus on percentages, you’ll feel more empowered to tackle it.

Look at your financial history for the past three or six months and allocate your income and spending into specific categories. Then use that information to set the percentages for your future expected transactions.

This way you can personalise your cash flow strategy and use it to adjust your financial behaviour. Resulting in more abundance in your life.

RULE NUMBER THREE- Acknowledge Your Current Story

The numbers don’t lie -they reveal a story, your current financial story.

Rule number three is all about identifying and acknowledging your financial story. By now, you’ve recognised your spending patterns and you know that if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting the same result.

By understanding where your money is being spent, you can see what adjustments you have to make to start creating wealth and abundance.

But it all begins with you taking the time to understand where your money is going.

RULE NUMBER FOUR – Rewrite Your Story

You have the power to create the story you want. All it takes is a few tweaks and adjustments to your current financial narrative.

By doing this, you can completely change the course of your life and finances. It’s like hitting the reset button and building a brand-new future for yourself.

To start rewriting your story, it’s important to understand what financial freedom means to you. Ask yourself what are your values and what do you want your story to be? These are the powerful questions that will help you pave the way toward abundance.

Once you’ve uncovered your desires and values, you can shape your future by setting achievable goals and realistic targets. With each milestone you reach, you’ll see yourself growing in abundance. And as you continue working towards your goals, you’ll keep setting new ones and advance even further.

Unlocking True Abundance

As you change your financial story and achieve your goals – you will notice an improvement in your psychological and emotional well-being. An indication of true abundance.

But it does not stop there.

True abundance is about leading with love in life and in business, not a love for money which can be destructive.

Generosity plays a crucial role when it comes to true abundance because we aim to make money and create financial freedom so that we can give back to the community. It’s not just about what you do, but why you do it. And people definitely take notice.

By increasing your own financial freedom, you’re not only gaining more money but also opening up countless opportunities to bring about the changes you want to see in the world.

You have the potential to thrive and make a positive impact!

Your abundance can benefit many people. All you have to do is take action.
