I am often asked by my yoga clients “what are some things I can do that will really make a difference to my body and my well-being”.
There is often something that I intuitively know will help a client and then I have some very special profound and easy yoga postures that I offer.
I would love to share them with you in this article, and you may already be aware of them or even practice them for yourself.
Breath Awareness – Pranayama

Brings one into the present moment
Cat Pose – Marjariasana
Benefits –
Warms up back, shoulders, spine, neck and hips
Helps regulate breathing, relieves stress and calms the mind
Massages and stimulates organs in the belly eg kidneys and adrenal glands
Improves posture and balance
Legs up the Wall – Viparita Karani
Benefits –
Lowers anxiety and stress
Eases headaches
Restores tired feet and legs
Helps to improve digestion
Helps to soften back tension
Relaxation Pose – Savasana
Benefits –
Calms the nervous system
Relaxes body and mind
Grounds your energy
Improves sleep and relaxation
Helps to integrate healing
Along with the above I also often recommend three simple ayurveda practices.
- Abhyanga which is self-massage with warm oil
- Tongue scraping with copper tongue scraper
- Nose oil with special ayurveda oil
I also often suggest that they be gentle, honor and take care of themselves in the way that they need.
