As women enter midlife, we often experience physical, emotional, and spiritual changes that can often be overwhelming. One way to find balance during this phase is to embrace the holistic concept of balancing and aligning our Seven Chakra System.
By understanding each Chakra energy centre with the corresponding physical and emotional states, we can begin to identify areas of imbalance or misalignment and take steps to restore harmony. Including practices such as yoga, meditation, energy healing, making changes to our diet and lifestyle we can optimally realign and balance our Chakras. Achieving a holistic balance of all seven energy centres will help us find greater peace, clarity, and fulfilment in our midlife journey and beyond.
I believe one of the best ways to reach a state of inner and outer equilibrium is through practicing guided meditation. If practicing guided meditation is a new addition to a daily routine or just an occasional inclination to meditate, one important thing to be aware of is to let go of any specific expectations and as much as possible to let go of the ‘monkey chatter’. Meditation is a practice, it takes time and patience, trial and error, to develop the skills necessary to truly benefit from this practice. It’s also important to understand that everyone’s meditation experiences are unique. Some people may see vivid images or colours, while others may not experience any visual sensations at all, but rather have other heightened senses such as: hearing, smell, or a sense of ‘just knowing’. The key is to be patient and kind to oneself when beginning a new meditation practice. When practicing meditation, it is key to either find a comfortable seated position with the spine straight and hands resting on the knees or lying down on a yoga mat with the back firmly against the floor and arms placed down beside the body, palms facing up ready to receive the beautiful magic from ‘source’.
I find that after listening to a guided meditation is a great time to document ‘the journey’. There will no doubt be some ‘golden nuggets’ from the meditation experience to journal, to look back on, drawing on the inner wisdom of the soul. Meditation offers a wonderful expansion of the soul’s awareness, it’s connection to ‘source’ and the ‘Collective’.
