EFT: A Simple Tool for Emotional and Physical Well-Being by Kaz Waters

Life can be a roller coaster of emotions, and sometimes we need a simple yet powerful way to bring ourselves back to balance. That’s where Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or tapping, comes in.

EFT is a scientifically backed mind-body tool that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with focused attention on emotions or challenges. It helps release stress, shift emotional blocks, and bring a sense of calm and clarity. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, overwhelm, physical discomfort, or limiting beliefs, EFT offers a practical way to self-regulate and navigate life’s ups and downs.

As an Advanced Clinical EFT Practitioner, I have witnessed the profound shifts that tapping can create. My journey into EFT began as seed drops.  The first in a singing lesson where my instructor handed me an A4 sheet with a basic recipe on it, then again in my NLP Practitioner training where we were given the original EFT Manual by Gary Craig, the founder of the technique. Fast forward a decade and my deep curiosity about how we can support our well-being by working with the body’s own energy systems took the lead, and I obtained my Advanced Clinical EFT certification. Over the years, I’ve worked with actors, nurses, authors, musicians, teachers, stone masons, and miners—helping them move through challenges like stress, sleep issues, emotional eating, trauma, and self-doubt. Some have even seen relief from physical symptoms such as chronic pain and allergies.

Beyond individual sessions, I run group tapping circles and workshops, guiding people to harness EFT for emotional resilience and overall health. One of my favourite aspects of this work is showing people how they can use tapping as a daily self-care tool—empowering them to shift patterns, build confidence, and cultivate inner peace.
