Happy Holidays. Take a moment to look around—as the city streets become adorned with the familiar reds and greens of Christmas, sparkling lights, and glistening silver and gold tinsel.
It’s striking that red and green are complementary opposites, colours locked in a dynamic tension that demands balance. This interplay isn’t just visual; it reflects deeper emotional currents many of us feel as the year ends.
These colours symbolise a dance between passionate energy and peaceful harmony. On one hand, red ignites vitality, drive, and urgency—the push to accomplish, prepare, and act. On the other hand, green offers renewal, grounding, and calm. But with holiday crowds, tight schedules, and endless to-dos, many experience overwhelm, stress, and frustration—feeling trapped between frantic motion and the desire for stillness.
This tension captures the essence of what the season often asks of us: to balance getting things done ahead of time while allowing space for genuine connection and presence.
One profound way this showed up for me was through Aura-Soma’s “Christ” bottle #B55—a sparkling clear atop a vibrant blood red. Visually, it invokes the concept of “light made manifest on Earth” and the sacred “blood and water shed.” When shaken, the mixture turns soft pink, symbolising compassion, unconditional love, and the timeless guidance to love the Creator and one another.
Delving deeper, red symbolises grounding strength—the feeling of being safely rooted with survival needs met. It also has the potential to provoke frustration or anger when that security is threatened. It’s an energy that bubbles up, unstoppable, pushing us toward a better way of being —transformative when aligned with our passion—or driving us endlessly toward inner frustration or ‘burnout’ when we are disconnected from an aligned life.
Recognising that such energy is natural and most often appears in the peaking heat of summer allows us to channel it wisely. Prepare now for the inevitable: schedule active fun, embrace nature’s fresh air, and cultivate gratitude for those around you. These steps don’t just mitigate frustration—they reconnect you to what truly matters.
When we remember the reason for the season, we gift ourselves the power of presence. That spacious, loving presence makes ordinary moments magical—and leaves memories that linger long after the lights come down.
