From Chaos to Confidence by Sylvia Burns

It was more than 30 years ago when I learned that chaos follows in the wake of major change.

I was going through a divorce and a financial settlement. Having moved back to Queensland, with our four little girls, I expected the process would be clear and clean, yet we were soon bogged down in a messy struggle that, unfortunately, became a legal battle.

We were both of Scottish descent, and my ex used to tease me about the Battle of Glenco,e where ‘his lot’- the Royal Stewarts, had deceived and massacred the Macdonalds, my family clan.

This history was coming into focus as I struggled to find a fair and just resolution. I contemplated deeply on my spiritual goal, to end this karmic relationship from a space of forgiveness, not revenge! And slowly it was as if a veil lifted, and I saw clearly how, over the centuries, revenge had been the tie that bound us together.

When we first met, we had shared a flat in Little Glencoe Street, just behind the house we had bought for the girls and I to live in…in Glencoe Street! It was startling to realise how the stage was set for an old pattern to play out. I felt torn between righteous anger at his disregard for our welfare and my desire for a spiritual healing to close this karmic ledger. My Inner Guide was constantly present, a source of strength that lifted me above my petty emotions, helping me keep my spiritual goal in focus…an end that must have its foundation in divine love. Only that could set us both free.

As I grew stronger spiritually, I could confidently step out of the battle and trust in the guidance and protection of the divine Spirit. And so, I set myself free! Einstein once said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” And this had certainly been my experience. It was only by shifting to a higher perspective that I could step out of the original mindset that kept the old pattern alive.

This is the gift of spiritual awareness, the ability to rise above the human consciousness-mind and emotions, to see the whole picture with the clear viewpoint of Soul, and take responsibility for creating my own future.

It is the Spiritual Exercises of ECK that have developed my spiritual intelligence. Simple yet profound tools that open my inner senses to a reality beyond my physical experience. A reality in which Soul is never lost or alone.

Playing with the spiritual laws of life, Soul slowly learns through Its own experience where the path of love lies and how to walk it confidently, in the presence of Its spiritual teacher and guides.

A simple daily practice of singing HU can lift your vibration, opening your heart and spiritual senses to the Life Force, the ECK, and Its guidance. It is worth the experiment to experience the difference HU can make!
