How to Boost Your Creativity This Christmas with Crystals by Jo Shipley

Here in the Southern Hemisphere summer, I’ve had this huge urge to get creative with my hands. I’m putting it down to all the Sacral Chakra healing work I’ve been doing lately (inspired partly by some very “summer bikini bod” tummy-toning motivation). But whatever the reason, the end result is that I’ve been feeling wonderfully inspiringly creative! If you’ve been wondering how to get creative again or how to boost creativity naturally, working with your Sacral Chakra really does seem to help the process.

A lot of that inspiration has gone straight into the garden. With this warm, wet Australian early summer weather, everything is growing at lightning speed — beds bursting with flowers, herbs and vegetables overflowing. It’s incredible to watch things grow in front of my eyes.

But top of that, I had an opportunity to learn a new craft: wood carving. It’s a social, earthy, hands-on lost trade — perfect for anyone wanting to make something beautiful by hand. You might start with a pattern, but the grain of the wood, the knife, or one tiny change in pressure can turn a pre-determined plan into a unique little piece of art. Unsurprisingly, my social media feed has now full of wood carving and heritage crafts… but honestly, I’m absolutely loving it.

There’s something deeply healing about creativity. That sense of satisfaction when inspiration lands, and you use nature’s bounty, your hands, and your imagination to bring it into form — it really is therapy.

Of course, the magic of being in the creative flow is that it puts you into the theta state — that beautiful process of being absorbed in a rhythmic activity that pushes you out of beta, the busy thinking state, into theta. Time seems to disappear, your mind softens, and creativity flows freely. You become open to creative downloads, and can release stress and tension. Creation is also the magic key to deliberate manifestation. So, if you’re stuck trying to bring your desires into being, engaging in a creative process is a wonderful way to unblock your energy and align with the manifestation process. Creativity truly is a powerful spiritual tool.
