If you’re a woman in midlife, you’ve likely heard the term ‘The Second Spring’, a concept in Chinese Medicine referring to a woman’s midlife transition, symbolising a phase of renewal. For midlife women who are journeying through Menopause, it’s your divine feminine rite of passage, and a time to embrace new beginnings in the second half of life – your Second Spring. This is your opportunity to shift focus from caring for others to now committing to your own healing journeys.
Midlife can be a challenging time, involving possible career changes, aging parents, and the general ups and downs of family life – all while managing the complexities of Menopause (and for some women these symptoms may be debilitating). It’s not easy, and you’re not alone – I’m going through it too, along with many others. Despite these difficulties, I really do believe in ‘Finding the Magic’ opportunities. There are pockets of beautiful experiences to explore during this phase, such as moments of inner wisdom, creativity, and spiritual expansion – all waiting to be rediscovered and enjoyed. And remember wise woman, the beautiful mystical words of the Persian poet Rumi: “if you know this secret, you will know that you are what you seek.”
NOW is the time to honour this new chapter in life, to nourish your mind, body, and soul. It’s a time of remembering who you are, a time to slow down and listen to the whispers of your soul calling you ‘home’. You’ve earned this rite of passage, embrace it fully – it’s your time, right here, right now!
Ask yourself:
What do you want the second half of your life to look like?
What are your dreams, hopes and desires that you’ve set aside, waiting for the ‘right’ moment? DREAM BIG!
If not now, when?
Midlife is a time to recognise the rhythms within you, just as they exist in nature. There’s a rhythm to everything. In nature it’s the seasons, sunrises, and sunsets. But nowhere are rhythms more powerful than within women.
And remember, you matter, your voice matters, and the Collective needs you!
