Spring Into Spring With A Little Internal Spring Cleaning by Kristy Burnett

Spring is here, and while many of us are cleaning out our homes, wardrobes and cupboards, September can also be a great reminder to think about what is happening inside our bodies.

We don’t think twice about booking a dental clean, having our car serviced, getting our hair done or scheduling other regular maintenance into our calendars. These things become second nature because we know that regular care can help keep everything running smoothly.

At A1 Colon Hydrotherapy, we believe your digestive system deserves some attention too.

Your colon plays an important role in your body’s natural elimination process. Our busy lifestyles, diets, stress levels, hydration, travel and changes to our normal routines can all influence how regularly and comfortably our bowels move.

Colon hydrotherapy uses gently introduced, filtered, temperature-controlled water to assist in hydrating and softening faecal matter within the colon, encouraging the bowel to release naturally during the treatment.

During a session, clients may release faecal matter, gas and mucus from the bowel. We sometimes describe the colon as the body’s sewage system because its job is to help move waste through and out of the body. Just like we maintain so many other areas of our lives, we believe supporting healthy bowel habits deserves a place in our wellness routines too.

So as we spring into spring, why not think of September as an opportunity for a little spring cleaning for your bowel?

For clients who are new to colon hydrotherapy, we generally recommend starting with three treatments scheduled as close together as practical, ideally within approximately one week where appropriate.

Everyone’s bowel is different, and factors such as hydration, diet, bowel habits and lifestyle can influence what happens during each appointment. Rather than expecting everything to happen during one visit, a short series provides several opportunities to introduce water into the colon and assist with softening and moving bowel contents.

After an initial series, some clients choose to incorporate colon hydrotherapy into their ongoing wellness routine, while others simply return occasionally depending on their individual needs.

Of course, colon hydrotherapy is only one part of looking after your digestive health. Drinking plenty of water, eating fibre-rich foods, moving your body and paying attention to changes in your bowel habits are all important.

If you have been curious about colon hydrotherapy but are unsure where to begin, give the friendly team at A1 Colon Hydrotherapy a call.

We are always happy to answer your questions, explain how our treatments work and discuss whether colon hydrotherapy may be appropriate for you.

This spring, perhaps it is time to add your insides to the spring cleaning list too.
