Sue Shaw Wellbeing started as an inner journey of self-discovery, exploration, and remembering who I am.
On reflection, I’ve always tried to fit into places where I really didn’t feel I belonged but I tried anyway. In fact, I now recognise that I abandoned myself time and time again, to try to be what I thought everyone else wanted me to be. I know this is a familiar pattern for many of us because I’ve been sitting with people all of my life, listening, learning and observing from an early age.
I’m inquisitive and curious about the body, mind, and psyche and this fascination led me to learn more so I could better understand, and read someone’s body language, mannerisms, and facial expressions.
After working in the corporate world of event management, media, marketing, advertising and PR, I left that behind to discover a whole new world that opened up to me after leaving an unhappy marriage and becoming a single mum with a 3-year-old.
I was searching for something but didn’t know what that something was, until I found Reiki and realised that I had played so many different roles in my life but had abandoned a huge part of me.
I completed my Reiki I, II and Masters Certificate in quick succession and my whole world and perspective on life changed. I built my wellbeing business from the ground up.
Event management still runs through my veins and I get to create bespoke events, workshops, community meditations, wellbeing festivals, and retreats in SA, interstate and overseas.
I’ve continued to expand my knowledge and training to include:
- Face Reading (Psychosomatic Therapy)
- Emotional Release Trigger Point Therapy (Psychosomatic Therapy)
- Reiki Master
- Hypnotherapy
- Past Life Regression Therapist
- AromaTouch Technique
- Access Bars Practitioner
- Certified Angel Intuitive
- Lomi Lomi Massage
- Tibetan Singing Bowl Therapy & Sound Healing L1
- Nationally Accredited Sacred Cacao Facilitator
- Corporate Wellness Coach
- Meditation & Retreat Facilitator
- Events Director
I’m now living on purpose every day and in absolute gratitude. There is no greater feeling than making a difference in people’s lives. That part is easy. We can all do it. It starts with being kind. Offering a smile to a stranger; complimenting someone. It doesn’t cost anything and not only does it make them feel good but it makes me feel good to see their face light up.
Last year I took the leap of faith and leased a beautiful heritage-listed cottage in Royal Park, South Australia, to open the Collective Soul Centre. With the support of other like-minded businesses who immediately came on board, it all happened quickly and fulfilled our individual purpose of providing a warm, welcoming space to leave your troubles behind and receive nurturing, restoration and connection.
