The Wonder of You by Eckankar

There is so much more to YOU and ME! I have learned over the years to accept and trust my inner guidance and personal instinct. At first it was difficult to even consider that I really could tread my own path confidently. Now I do so without a doubt.

There are many different views on the concept of Soul.  For me, Soul is that unique unit of awareness that is intrinsically me, the real me I see when I look deeply into myself. It is Soul that views the world I see and can transmit Its specific understanding of all that is happening to me, my physical self. Soul is the very essence of myself.

Recently I was on the way to a dental appointment. I have a deep fear and distrust of most medical or dental procedures.  As we were driving along, I received a clear and distinct impression of the incidents about to unfold.  I could clearly hear the dentist saying that I needed to have a troublesome tooth removed, that it would be simple and easy and that I would immediately feel better, in fact very good. 

Once I was in the dental chair, I was really amazed to hear his words, exactly as I had foreseen, even down to his prediction that I would feel very good. The procedure went ahead and indeed the result was exactly as he said, I was fine, even good.

Driving home I marvelled at the simple but very profound events, and I felt a significant confidence in my own inner guidance and vowed to trust my feelings, even more, in the future.  The whole series of happenings opened a realisation that I, as Soul, knew and understood my life and my state of consciousness; that I could take control of my emotions and reactions to every event in my life. That confidence was a profoundly empowering experience. Once again, I realised that Soul, the real me, was so very important in my understanding of life.

Whenever I am facing a challenging or fearful trial, I centre my attention with a spiritual exercise that has become the mainstay of my life. I concentrate on my spiritual eye, with love in my heart and with no attempt to control the outcome I sing quietly or aloud the simple mantra “HU”.  Singing HU calms me, bringing a greater understanding of all that is happening around me.

I have realised that listening to and relying on Soul is the wonder of ME and YOU indeed all of us; that we hold our lives in our own hands.
