Masks are our ego’s way of protecting us because we did not feel safe enough to be our authentic selves.
🙌Not safe enough, or unable to, express our feelings.
🙌Not safe enough, or unable to, speak up for ourselves.
Masks are often developed in our early years as a way of adapting to our family environment. To maintain the bonds with our primary caregivers, for our very survival.
🫶We made ourselves invisible, so we didn’t stand out for fear of being punished for being “too much”.
🫶We stifled our emotions and pretended to be fine because we didn’t feel safe to be heard.
🫶We developed self-deprecating humour to hide the hurt of not being accepted for who we really are.
🫶We became overachievers because it was the only way to get praise.
And in that defining moment, where we had no choice, we traded authenticity for acceptance.
These masking behaviours become normalised and, in time, we grow more disconnected from our authentic selves.
The consequences?
– Autoimmunity
– Depression
– Anxiety
– Intolerances
– Metabolic disorders
– Hormone imbalances
If you experience any of these conditions, like I do, it’s highly likely you are wearing a mask, or multiple masks, which are exhausting to maintain!
Are you ready to understand your mask, and perhaps be brave enough to FINALLY take it off?
💥In my Activate Your Feminine Essence workshops, we will explore the common masks that keep us in a state of suppression and survival. We look at the root causes and how to heal them.
❤️Dropping our masks is a core practice in reclaiming the connection to our authentic self, getting out of our heads and back into our hearts – from which our feminine essence radiates.
