Yoga Nidra is a beautiful gentle and powerful tool for managing stress, improving sleep, and enhancing overall wellbeing. Incorporating Yoga Nidra into your daily or weekly self-care routines will add deep rest, relaxation and clarity and help you navigate the ups and downs of life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience.
Unlike meditation, Yoga Nidra does not require concentration or effort. In Yoga Nidra you are encouraged to let go and simply follow the voice of the instructor.
Penny joins Yoga Nidra each week and wouldn’t miss it for almost anything. The only time Penny does not join is if there is something else that needs her attention like her family or if she is away on holidays. Penny has been practicing Yoga Nidra with me for over 7 years now and says that there always feels like something is missing when she cannot make the session.
Penny has a cat called Charlie and it so interesting to see Charlie climb over the lounge, walk past the zoom screen and find his favourite Yoga Nidra spot each week. He stays in the same spot for the whole session and Penny says he just loves to join her for the weekly Yoga Nidra session.
Penny comments often how Yoga Nidra helps her to focus more easily at work the next day she says it like she has had a reset and finds also that her pain that she has due to injuries is reduced quite significantly. Penny is 72 and says she will never stop doing Yoga Nidra as it helps her so much.
It is so lovely to see how the simple practice of Yoga Nidra makes such a difference to Pennys wellbeing and focus and how that funny little cat called Charlie enjoys it so much too.
Yoga Nidra is a wonderful restorative practice in that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep, also helping metabolism and hormonal function. This helps the body remove toxins, reduce stress and lower blood pressure.
I am so grateful and happy to be able to share Yoga Nidra weekly and if you would like to join us on the mat or your couch I would love to welcome you to the gentle art of Yoga Nidra.
