When I was a kid, I didn’t know what manifesting was. I just knew that if I imagined something hard enough, it usually found a way to appear: a new box of coloured pencils, ice-cream, a pet dog, or to meet a unicorn. There was no pressure, only imagination, play, and trust.
All of the above happened.
Somewhere along the way, many of us forget that simple magic. We start believing manifesting needs effort, scripts, or perfect timing. Yet the universe never asked us to work that hard. It only asked us to feel and believe.
This year, I released four books. They didn’t happen overnight. They were years in the making—seeds of light planted long ago that finally bloomed. The real miracle wasn’t publication day but the process: the quiet, ordinary moments when I trusted the universe and kept tending the soil.
When I let myself sink into childlike wonder, creativity flowed like sunlight. Ideas sprouted, characters came to life, and words seemed to write themselves. When my adult brain tried to control things, everything froze. That’s the dance of manifesting.
The universe doesn’t need us to push. It asks us to open, to listen, and to trust that what’s meant to grow already knows how.
Each of my books came from that trust.
The Changey-Sizey Lion began as a bedtime spark about a boy and a magical lion who could grow or shrink at will on a quest to care for the earth. It became an adventure full of “a-ha” moments and a gentle message about finding yourself.
Light Walks: How to Walk with Angels to Increase Your Light and Raise Consciousness began simply: walking each day, talking to the angels, asking only to feel connected. The messages came like rays of light—clear, kind, and practical. I never planned to write about angels; I just kept walking, and the path appeared.
And this month, the Hot Chips Book Series- The Great Chip Chase and Trash Palace joined the family—an unashamedly Aussie picture book series born from laughter with my friend Temma Lee, with the underlying message of sharing and recycling. That playful chat became a story about a magical T-shirt that explodes golden chips whenever Theo shouts, “Chip! Chip! Hooray!” We didn’t chase the idea; we celebrated it, and it grew on its own.
That’s childlike manifesting. You don’t chase outcomes. You play with ideas and trust the feeling that lights up your heart.
So how do you return to that simplicity?
Start with imagination. Let your mind wander as it once did. Picture what lights you up, not what will impress anyone.
Then play. Take one joyful step toward it. Scribble, dance, research, talk to the sky. Play moves energy and tells the universe you’re ready.
Finally, trust. Let go of how and when it arrives. Children don’t worry about timelines; they simply know it’s already real somewhere.
Manifesting isn’t about calling things in. It’s about connecting with the light you already carry. When you live from that light, when you imagine, play and trust, your dreams don’t just come true, they come alive. That’s when life opens up in ways you can feel and see — meeting unicorns, dragons, fairies, and angels becomes as real as breathing.
