Don’t make wellness a full-time job by Lisa Brough

We have seen a powerful change within our communities since I first stepped into the wellness world.

In the 1980’s I started collecting “Muscle and Fitness” magazines and books such as “Fit for Life” which was all about food combining. I lived for the gym and followed longevity diets, or the more classic “clean diet” that has become such a mainstream interest today. I was one of the very few, and to be honest, most people saw this as strange and unnecessary.

I see the rise in wellness across all ages in recent years. We are all more aware and feel empowered to take positive steps for maximising wellness. The gym is for everyone, and we know exercise is therapeutic in so many ways.

I witness RFK Jr create education and incentives for families to go back to whole-food eating, and to clean up the big food industry that puts profits over wellness. It’s a magical change to behold after all this time!

We all have easy access to information about supplements, recipes, root causes, coaches, diets, complete longevity protocols and more through the internet. Education and opportunities to access wellness professionals is everywhere. So much to learn, so much to buy, so many things to compare and so much to implement….

Are you dabbling and trying a few things? Or are you drowning in all the things?

Does it sometimes feel like a full-time job to be well and stay that way?

When a client is working to overcome a health issue/disease/major symptom, then it makes sense to combine a wholefood diet, relaxation techniques, grounding, natural light, a supplement regime, targeted exercise and emotional healing with a professional. All the supports! This is a Targeted Healing Phase – not a wellness program. And it could and should feel like a lot of work for a while.

After the issue is taken care of, or has reached an improved level, the body can now regulate itself better. Now you really are doing wellness work. We do supportive things to help our body OPTIMISE wellness. This is where we improve our weight, energy levels, healthier sleep patterns, longevity and work on long term minor issues such as old injuries.

In my practice, I sometimes see people with minor issues making Wellness a full-time job. Or at least part-time! As a psychic as well as a Holistic Biomagnetism Practitioner, I can usually see a far more harmonious and simpler lifestyle plan for people. It is individual to what each person needs at the time, but I would like to introduce you to some Very Common themes that apply to many people.

Number 1 – Using a program, supplements, devices without changing your core lifestyle enough.

Honestly, consistently drinking enough water, spending time in nature and doing a daily stress-relieving meditation will do most of the heavy lifting for you when it comes to wellness. Up to 80% of your result could come from this. If you do these things for a while then fall off the wagon, then you haven’t changed your identity around wellness. You haven’t decided to be the version of you who is vibrant and well.

Tweaking and improving your existing identity wellness will not bring lasting or great change. Step into a new identity and confirm it every day with your actions.

Number 2 – Not seeing your own emotional, mental and spiritual blocks.

We can have subconscious benefits, comfort and freedom from change when we hide the root causes from ourselves. It’s common and we all do it, it’s how we are designed. If you feel there’s hidden resistance and repeating patterns, come and see me or your favourite mind-body practitioner to clear the way to wellness.

Number 3 – Perpetuating your own issues.

Whenever we notice the same issue every day with our own eyes, we can be creating a micro-aggression in the psyche.

For example: Noticing the extra weight or chronic rash when we shower and dress. You can consciously feel good about the issue because you are doing things to improve the condition, but the subconscious registers a de-valuation or ugliness conflict. This in turn creates more weight and skin flareups. It’s like there’s a tiny “top-up” of the conditions daily. This perpetuates the weight or skin issue.

There are techniques such as Bioswitch and EFT I use to overcome this.

I’ll leave this article here for you to ponder,

Sincerely,
