End-of-Year Rituals and New-Year Intentions by Vikki Speller

How did you flow through the year?

As the year draws to a close, many of us feel an inner pull to settle our energy, while others thrive on the excitement of the festive season. For me, it is always a mixture of both: the wish to slow the pace, soften my shoulders and make space to breathe, while also loving this time of year for the family connection and celebration with friends.

For those who know me, you’ll know how much I adore ritual. The end of year is a beautiful energetic threshold to move through, a moment to reflect, release and realign with who we are becoming.

In my work, I find that women especially are craving ritual, connection and meaning at this time of year. We hold so much for others throughout the year, whether it is our families, our work, or our communities, and many of us rarely stop long enough to honour ourselves. This is why thoughtful Year-end rituals can feel like a gentle exhale for the soul.

The act of ritual simply requires presence and intention. Here are three beautiful practices you can bring into your own end-of-year rhythm:

Acknowledge Your Becoming
Instead of jumping straight into writing goals for the new year, take time to honour the growth you have already lived. Journal on: What have I moved through? What strengths have I reclaimed? What am I proud of myself for this year? This anchors confidence and self-recognition before stepping forward.

Release What You No Longer Need
Light a candle and write down the habits, patterns, or emotional weights you are ready to let go of. Burn the paper safely or tear it into tiny pieces as a symbolic release. When we create space, new possibilities flow in with ease.

Set a Heart-Led Intention
Close your eyes. Place your hand on your heart. Take a slow, intentional breath. Ask yourself: What feeling do I wish to embody as I walk into a new beginning? Let that feeling become your guiding intention for 2026. These simple rituals create clarity, grounding and a deep sense of emotional reset, something many women are yearning for by the end of the year.

Looking Ahead to 2026
Reflection is not only about honouring where we have been; it is also about stepping into a new year with intention, clarity and self-belief.

If you are ready to create a year aligned with your purpose and deepest desires, I invite you to join me for Soul Vision 2026, a transformative workshop held over four weeks in January. Through guided meditation, intuitive journaling, practical vision creation, and ritual of self-love, you will walk away with clarity, confidence and a heart-led plan for the year ahead.

Take this moment to acknowledge all that you are, and all that you are becoming, as you step into 2026 with renewed energy, alignment and intention.
