How Your Emotional World Shapes Your Wealth and Impact by Abbey Rose

And why emotional regulation alone won’t make you more money.

Let’s start with something that might challenge what you have been told…

Your emotions do not make you money.

I know that might feel uncomfortable to read, especially in a world where we are constantly hearing that if we just regulate our nervous system, feel safe, and stay in a high vibration… the money will flow.

But money doesn’t respond to your emotions. It responds to your logic, your decisions, and your behaviour.

Now, that doesn’t mean your emotions don’t matter. They absolutely do. But not because they magically attract money.

They matter because your emotions influence your behaviour… and your behaviour is what creates your financial results.

I’ve seen this firsthand.

I’ve worked with people who are emotionally all over the place, reactive, inconsistent… and they are making millions. And I’ve worked with people who are deeply self-aware, emotionally intelligent, doing all the inner work… and they are struggling financially.

So clearly, emotional regulation alone isn’t the missing piece.

What’s often missing is:

  • Clarity around what actually needs to be done
  • The ability to make clean, grounded decisions
  • And the willingness to take aligned action, even when it feels uncomfortable

So where do emotions actually fit?

Every emotional reaction you have carries information.

Your triggers are not flaws to eliminate. They are not something to be suppressed or fixed. They are signals that show you what’s happening internally.

They can reveal:

  • Where you feel unsafe or uncertain
  • Where old patterns or beliefs are still running
  • Where you don’t fully trust yourself yet

And this is where it connects to your money.

Every transaction in your business — every sale, every investment, every expense — is the result of a decision.

And every decision is made from an emotional state.

So, while your emotions don’t directly create money, they absolutely influence the quality of the decisions that do.

For example, when decisions are made from fear, you might:

  • Undercharge or hesitate to sell
  • Avoid opportunities that require growth
  • Play small to feel “safe”

When decisions come from scarcity, you might:

  • Overwork or overdeliver
  • Say yes to the wrong clients
  • Make reactive financial choices

And when decisions come from ego, you might:

  • Chase validation instead of alignment
  • Spend to be seen a certain way
  • Build something that looks good but doesn’t feel good

You can’t bypass the trigger. This is where a lot of people get stuck. They either try to ignore the emotion or “heal” it, so it never shows up again. But that’s not the work.

You’re not here to eliminate your emotional responses.

You’re here to move through them.

Because the emotion is the access point to change.

When something comes up in your body — a reaction, tension, frustration, fear — that’s not the moment to shut down or push through blindly.

That’s the moment to pause. To notice. To get curious.

Because if you keep reacting the way you always have, you will keep creating the same results.

If you want a different life, you have to respond differently.

A simple way to move through emotional triggers.

This doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to be intentional.

Start with this:

  1. Acknowledge what you’re feeling

Instead of reacting straight away, take a moment to recognise what’s coming up. Ask yourself, “What am I actually feeling right now?” Awareness alone begins to shift the pattern.

  1. Create space before you decide

Give your body time to settle. This could be as simple as stepping away, taking a few breaths, or going for a walk. You’re not avoiding the situation — you’re choosing not to react to it.

  1. Choose a different response

Once you’re grounded, ask yourself, “What would the version of me who has the result I want do here?” Then act from that place, even if it feels unfamiliar.

This is where your wealth shifts. Not in the emotion itself. Not in how much inner work you have done. But in the moment, you choose a different behaviour.

That’s where your bank account starts to change.

That’s where your business evolves.

That’s where your impact deepens.

Because you’re no longer operating from unconscious patterns… you’re leading yourself.

Emotional regulation won’t make you more money on its own. But it will give you the clarity and stability required to make better decisions. And better decisions — made consistently over time — are what create real, sustainable wealth.

So, the next time you feel triggered, don’t see it as something going wrong. See it as information. Move through it. And then choose differently.

Because that choice? That’s where everything begins to change.
