Jacq’s Musings – A Gentle Invitation to Begin Again

There’s something beautiful about the space between seasons, when one season begins to release us and the next starts quietly making itself known.

Winter is slowly making way for spring and you can feel its promise in the air. The mornings are becoming a little lighter, the days a little longer and there’s a gentle shift happening all around us. Perhaps without even realising it, something within you has also started to shift.

Winter invites us to slow down. To rest, to retreat a little, to spend more time at home and to turn inward. It asks us to listen more closely to what we need, even when the world keeps moving around us. As spring approaches, there is a natural pull to step outside again, breathe a little deeper, open the windows, feel the warmth of the sun on our skin and reconnect with the world around us.

I love how nature reminds us that change doesn’t have to happen all at once.

Nature reminds us that change can be quiet. The light returns gradually; new growth appears in its own time and perhaps we can allow ourselves to move just as gently into what comes next.

There have been moments this winter where I have noticed how easy it is to keep pushing through, even when my body, heart and mind are asking for something gentler. The quiet has reminded me that rest is not wasted time. Sometimes it is the very place where we begin to hear ourselves again.

Through winter, I’ve found comfort in the cooler weather, the slower rhythm and the quiet space to look within, listen to what I needed and nurture myself more deeply. Perhaps you have been moving through your own winter season too, feeling tired, uncertain, stuck, or simply needing time to find your way back to yourself. Now as the light begins to return, you are starting to feel a little lighter too.

I love Spring, it’s my favourite time of year. It takes me back to my childhood in Wollongong, to the way each season seemed to arrive with its own scent, feeling and promise. Spring, especially, carried something unmistakable for me: warmth in the air, freshness on the breeze, the feeling of being alive, free and open to possibility. It reminds me that we are allowed to begin again. We can let go of what has felt heavy. We can make space for new possibilities. We can choose differently. We can step towards the things that bring us joy, even if we don’t have the whole path figured out yet.

Beginning again does not always need to look big or brave from the outside. Sometimes it is choosing to open the curtains, make the phone call, clear a small corner, say yes to something nourishing, or say no to what no longer feels right. Small beginnings still count.

It is a reminder that all we need to do for now is to get started. To take that one step towards whatever it is we would like to do.

As winter says its last farewell and we begin to move into spring, perhaps take a quiet moment to ask yourself what this season has been teaching you, what you no longer need to carry and what you are ready to welcome in.

As the seasons begin to change, perhaps take a quiet moment to ask yourself:

·        What am I ready to gently let go of as I move into this new season?

·        What would I love to invite more of into my life?

·        Where in my life am I ready to step into the light and begin again?

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply asking the question is where change begins. Like nature, we are always evolving, growing and becoming. This spring is your quiet invitation to let go, open up and step softly towards what is calling you next.

Let this spring be the season you stop waiting for the perfect moment and simply begin again, without rushing or needing to have it all figured out.

If this has stirred something within you, know that you do not have to find your way alone. Through heart-centred soul mentoring, I hold a gentle space for you to reconnect with yourself, honour your own rhythm and take the next step with greater trust.
