As holistic business owners, we start with passion and knowledge. Achieving our goals requires unwavering commitment and resilience. The journey is challenging at times, and filled with fears that can feel very real. Fear is often described as “false evidence appearing real,” and it can feel very real to us. It’s fed and influenced by past experiences and doubts. Recognising that many fears are borrowed from others can help us shed them and embrace our true selves.
In my early career, I immersed myself in technology, afraid to reveal my spiritual side. It took a lot of reflection in the recent years to realise these fears were not mine but imposed by others. Embracing my true self allowed me to confidently step into my calling as a holistic business owner.
Working with holistic businesses like naturopaths, wellness coaches, psychics and authors, I’ve seen the power of combining business expertise with holistic practices.
This journey involves continuous learning &
personal development to better support self and others
My digital web journey began in 1996 when I turned to the internet for information about my daughter’s congenital hip dysplasia. I found very little information or help.
By building a website and sharing my daughter’s story online, I was able to connect with and support other mothers facing similar challenges. This experience taught me the power of sharing personal stories.
In 2001, I faced another personal challenge, including a strained marriage and a bladder cancer diagnosis during my third pregnancy. Reiki profoundly impacted my healing journey, opening my eyes to holistic practices, yet I still wasn’t ready to embrace it. So I stayed submissive to the circumstances before me. The cancer came back, I learned about my body speaking to me and I took inspired action.
Despite these challenges, I persevered and tuned into the inner knowing.
Leaving what was a path of self-destruction, I re-built myself and my business. With support from others, I embraced and adapted to new technologies. Facebook became a significant platform for me, and I learned everything about it to help other businesses grow.
Over time, I evolved from using simple tools that required many work-arounds to meet my needs, to a more robust marketing automation system that was also a client management tool.
The key takeaway from my journey is
the importance of persistence and resilience
Building a holistic business requires balancing technology and holistic practices to create a seamless customer journey.
One of my long-term clients exemplifies this journey. Starting with zero online presence, they now have a robust digital footprint, an effective CRM, and successful online courses.
This transformation took dedication, learning, and overcoming fears
Being a holistic business owner is about more than just implementing technology or marketing strategies. It’s about embracing the holistic practices you know well, overcoming fears, and continuously evolving. By building supportive systems and maintaining a holistic approach, we can achieve our dreams and what I love most ‘creating a ripple of positive change in the world’. As we grow and support others, we contribute to a healthier, more balanced world.
The journey in building your business, is filled with challenges, and with persistence and a holistic approach, success is not only possible but profoundly fulfilling.
