Overcoming Problems as a Healer by Lisa Brough

Let’s go back to 1998…. I remember being a brand-new Solo-preneur as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. The jobs market had collapsed during my degree program, and the options available for work dried up.

“No problem,” I thought. I’m happy to work for myself as a PT, and I’m loaded with a positive mindset, a Cert 3 in Business and nifty psychological strategies – Thanks, Tony Robbins!

I ran some radio ads and got my face in the local paper and had 14 regular weekly one-on-one clients within 3 months. Things were off to a great start, and automatic word of mouth took over from there. A couple of years later my books were full and I had an employee for the overflow. No more advertising, just doing a great job at helping people.

Over the years I’ve started new ventures in different locations and situations then transitioned to natural therapies. My mindset, skillset and strategies were still there, but the landscape has continuously changed. Growth in my healing business was hit and miss for a long while.

Becoming a mother brought up many new lenses and unconscious stuff for my soul to work through. Where there’s a problem, the soul sees opportunity for growth! It’s why the problem has come up – to gift us with the growth. It looked like this: Growth with new clients, happy clients, consistency and satisfaction with my work. A few months later, numbers dwindled, and the new clients showing up were less dedicated. Of course, in my own life my dedication to work was now halved because of my dedication to my children. Of course. The law of correspondence dictates this…

Different challenges to these popped up every year or two. Being a solo practitioner isn’t just a rewarding way to help people – but a vehicle of growth. So much growth, often more that we can handle in the moment if we are “tapped out” energetically.

Can you relate?

A fixed hours and fixed income life with job opportunities for growth as well, but the problems/opportunities come at a more reasonable pace!

What gets me through when I want to clear something within myself reflected in my clientele or business? Emotional Freedom Techniques, Pendulum Alchemy, taking new actions.

What gets me through when a new challenge arises, and I’m feeling “tapped out”?

One word…… Surrender.

Surrender is where you hand over to the universe. It’s saying – I can’t figure this one out, endure this or rise up…. And letting grace come in. Handing it over to the divine.

You’ve got to align to grace through your beliefs and self-talk. Surrender without faith is a gamble, you’ve got to know the universe has the map and let it bring the solutions to you.

When life gives you one too many lemons at once, it’s time to surrender with faith.

The divine knows a way to resolve things and bring you to where you need to be.

The divine brings people onto your path.

The divine brings the solution wrapped in the problem.

And yes, it works, just ask me!
