The rainbow of colours can be represented as saturated versions or paler versions. From an Aura-Soma perspective, the intensity of a colour’s meaning intensifies when light enters the colour, turning it in to a pale version.
Whilst the inherent meaning of that pale colour remains the same as the saturated version, the subtle difference with this intensification is interpreted as an increase of consciousness.
Pale Magenta
Magenta is the colour that bridges the two ends of the visible spectrum: the violet end, with the fastest wavelengths of light, and the red end, with the slowest. Goethe, Steiner, and those who followed their streams of thought emphasized this bridging quality, magenta as the joining of extremes.
In Aura-Soma magenta is connected with what lies above the crown of the head. This is sometimes called the soul star, and it has three aspects: a personal soul star, a group or collective soul star and the universal soul star (the whole of the Akasha).
As what exists above the head is the source of love, magenta is often described as love from above. The more we bring care, warmth, and love into small, everyday actions, the more we draw down this magenta energy this ‘love from above’ through the crown.
When we think about the pale intensification of the magenta, it’s like suffering and the understanding of suffering and why it is that it comes about in relation to the magenta, where we cut ourselves off from the love that’s there for us, then it creates that suffering, which is getting what we don’t want, wanting what we can’t have, or not being able to distinguish between those two. The pale magenta, the intensification of the magenta energy, has that possibility of showing us why it is that we’re suffering in relation to what we deny for ourselves.
