Research Partnership Reveals Promising Findings for Childhood Skin Infection Treatment

The Aurum Project, a Sydney-based natural medicine research organisation, has announced a significant milestone in a six-year collaborative research partnership between Australia and India investigating the potential role of homeopathy in treating Molluscum contagiosum (MCV), a contagious paediatric skin infection.

The research partnership brings together The Aurum Project in Sydney, Dr Sujata Naik’s long-established clinic in Mumbai, India, and Linlee Jordan’s Harbord Homeopathic Clinic in Sydney. Both clinics have served their communities for more than 35 years, contributing decades of clinical expertise to the study.

The collaborative team has recently submitted its findings for publication in a respected international medical journal.

MCV is a prevalent viral skin infection affecting children worldwide. Despite its widespread nature, there is currently no universally accepted conventional treatment.

The research reviewed 12 published articles involving 178 participants and found that in the majority of cases where individualised homeopathy treatment was given, the lesions resolved between two and three months. In comparison, untreated cases reported recovery periods ranging from 11months to over 4 years.

The findings suggest homeopathy can significantly reduce healing times for children affected by MCV and highlight the need for further investigation into complementary medicine treatment approaches.

One of the study’s most notable discoveries was a previously unreported difference in lesion locations between Indian and Australian patients. Researchers observed that MCV lesions in Indian children appeared predominantly on the face, while Australian children were more likely to present lesions on the limbs and torso.

This is the first time such a distinction has been documented and represents a major breakthrough for The Aurum Project research team.

The study also supports the growing importance of Australia–India collaboration in medical and scientific research. As the relationship between the two nations continues to strengthen across health, education, technology and innovation sectors, joint research initiatives such as this demonstrate the value of combining clinical expertise, cultural insight, and patient data across diverse populations.

Australia and India share a deep commitment to advancing natural healthcare outcomes through evidence-based research and knowledge exchange. Collaborative projects enable researchers to identify population-specific trends, broaden the scope of clinical observation, and accelerate innovation in emerging areas of healthcare.

The collaboration between Sydney and Mumbai demonstrates how longstanding homeopathy clinical practice and cross-border cooperation can contribute meaningful insights into complex and under-researched conditions affecting children worldwide.

Keep an eye on The Aurum Projects’ ongoing India–Australia collaboration with homeopaths in Western Sydney, particularly in Harris Park.
