In a world that feels increasingly disconnected and individualistic, many are on a quest for something more meaningful. They are disillusioned by a modern society that has abandoned its spiritual values and neglected the natural world. They yearn to reclaim ancestral ways of living—practices rooted in community, deep connection to nature, and rituals that restore the sacred to daily life. This longing drives them toward holistic wellness and alternative spiritual modalities that connect them to the earth and the unseen forces that govern the universe.
In this spiritual seeking, an ancient path is resurging Shamanism. Representing one of the earliest forms of healing and spiritual practice known, it can be seen as the universal spiritual wisdom inherent to diverse indigenous tribes worldwide.
What are the main gifts of Shamanic Practice?
At the heart of shamanism is the understanding that everything—rocks, rivers, plants, and animals—is alive, sentient, and interconnected. As humans we are part of this web of life, and we need to become more conscious of the impact of everything we do.
1/ Shamanic Practice
Journeying is a significant aspect of Shamanic practice and a powerful tool for spiritual growth and healing. It can be practiced individually, as part of a healing session, or in group.
There are many ways of diving into a shamanic visionary state to journey. The Medicine Drum is one of them. The vibration and regular beating of the drum induce a state of deep relaxation that calms the mind allowing the subconscious to come forward. Drumming helps us navigate the spiritual realms and different states of consciousness easily.
Soul Retrieval is One of the most sought-after shamanic modalities. Shamanism posits that trauma, whether experienced in this life, in a past life, or even before birth, can cause a fragmentation of the soul—a protective mechanism where a part of our energy and qualities separates and hides.
Soul Retrieval is the practice of journeying to locate and return these lost parts, helping the individual to reintegrate lost qualities like joy, confidence, or trust. This is the process to become whole again. Embracing these splits off parts of us allows us to improve our experience of the world and stop repeating negative patterns.
What are the Symptoms of Soul Loss?
The symptoms often mirror the psychological experience of disassociation. They can manifest as depression, a persistent feeling of incompleteness, an inability to move forward on key issues, a feeling of having no control over one’s life, and a general feeling of unhappiness.
2/ Ceremony and rituals
Another important part of Shamanic practice are community gatherings around a ritual such as Fire Ceremonies. Shamanic ceremonies are an invitation to celebrate all life, and join our ancestors who before us sat around a fire to connect with the spirit realm.
Rituals and ceremonies bring us together and reconnect us our power to dream our life and world into being. They create a sense of belonging and build up cohesive communities.
How to begin your Shamanic Practice?
The most vital step is to let your heart be your guide and pay attention to the opportunities that appear on your path. You can begin simply by reading, attending an introductory workshop, or joining a community gathering like a Full Moon Ceremony. My own journey began when the internal calling that made me leave Paris for the Sunshine Coast felt like a call from Pachamama (Mother Earth). Amazing synchronicities guided me to study with a Master Shaman, where I learned the Rainbow Body concept—a profound method for healing the past and aligning with purpose. This led to receiving the Munay Ki Rites and the Rite of the Womb and attending workshops with a very famous shaman and scientist, Alberto Villoldo and his wife, Marcella Lobos. Later, in December 2017, a deep immersion trip to the Ecuadorian Amazon forest and Peru, where I stayed with different tribes and received many blessings, confirmed my desire to protect the Earth and contribute to a new world.
A Gift from the Q’eros People
If you feel attracted by shamanism, the Munay Ki rites, nine shamanic rites of initiation, are a great way to step into this ancient inheritance. Transmitted to us by the Peruvian Medicine Men and Women, descendants of the Incas, they are life-changing initiations that bless every aspect of our existence.
Some of the gifts of the Munay Ki are a deeper connection with the earth, the elements and spirit; A sharpening of your visionary and healing skills; a feeling of being deeply alive and vibrant; a profound understanding of your innate power of creation.
