I’ve been investigating a deeper truth that I can no longer stay silent about.
Most of what we call empathy is actually a sophisticated survival strategy we’ve been running long before we knew we were Empaths.
It’s a fawn response hardwired into our nervous system to keep us safe by being “nice.”
You guessed it, it’s the people-pleaser mask. And it isn’t being kind— it’s being “at effect.”
We have been trading our authentic power for a perceived sense of safety, acceptance, and belonging.
It’s not only emotionally exhausting.
It’s creating the conditions for chronic illness.
The hyper-vigilance, rumination, boundary leaks, and stress responses aren’t “part of the gift.” They are the cost of wearing this mask.
A couple of years ago, I reached the point where I had ENOUGH. I was done with people-pleasing. It cost me my health, my power, and my relationships.
So, I made the shift from being “at effect” to being “at cause”.
And it changed everything for me.
It set me up to do the deeper subconscious work – to release the emotions (especially anger, frustration and resentment), install new empowering beliefs, and rewire my nervous system for internal safety.
My vitality, power, and sense of purpose returned. And my relationships improved dramatically, without me even trying.
If you’re feeling reactive, powerless, and wondering why the world is too harsh for your sensitive heart, you are probably living “at effect” too.
The good news is that you can change. But you have to make the one shift first.
What next?
If you want to know more about the ONE shift that changes everything for empaths, I have a video training that explains it all. It’s based on solid neuroscience and my own lived experience.
