Summer Makeup Tips for a Fresh and Radiant Look by Kylie Eustace

With warm weather and summer holidays on our minds, we like to think about simple ways of achieving a flawless summer makeup look that  involves a holistic approach and addresses both skincare and makeup application.

To maintain vibrant skin and ensure makeup sits beautifully, prioritise a healthy diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. These foods not only hydrate your body but also provide essential nutrients and antioxidants for helping achieve radiant skin. Hydration is key, so drink plenty of water, exfoliate regularly, and incorporate light serums and moisturizers into your skincare routine. Additionally, don’t forget sun protection when spending time outdoors.

When it comes to makeup application, start with a foundation primer containing Aloe, known for its hydrating and soothing properties. A personal favourite is Kylie’s Professional Mineral Goddess, which is Aloe-based and can even replace your daytime moisturizer. Opt for natural and organic beauty products, avoiding unnecessary irritants and toxic ingredients found in mainstream products as these do not benefit the skin. Websites like EWG’s Skin Deep (https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (http://www.safecosmetics.org/get-the-facts/chem-of-concern/) can help you assess the safety of ingredients.

For a breathable, perspiration-proof, swim-suitable summer foundation, I prefer high-quality Mineral Pressed or Loose Powder Foundation. These products allow your skin to breathe, provide natural sun protection, resist humidity, and promote healing. Select the right foundation shade for summer, considering that the shade you used in colder months may not suit your current complexion. Test the foundation on your jaw, collarbones, or shoulders in natural daylight for the perfect match.

Create a sun-kissed glow with bronzer, blending it from your cheekbones to temples. Bronzer can also double as a perfect everyday eyeshadow. Highlight your cheekbones for a fresh, radiant summer look. Opt for a peachy-pink blush on your cheeks and a matching lip shade for a natural appearance.

Enhance your eyes with soft shades of bronze, gold, and rosegold, these will complement any summer outfit or occasion. Keep your brows well-groomed and fill them in with a natural shadow to frame your face when aiming for a softer eye makeup look. Finish with a light layer of mascara for a polished appearance.

During hot moments, refresh yourself by patting your face with a tissue. Spritz a hydration spray over your décolletage and face for instant relief. This quick tip will help you stay cool and maintain a fresh summer glow.

In summary, achieving a flawless summer makeup look involves a combination of skincare and makeup choices. Prioritize hydration, sun protection, and choosing the right products for a radiant and long-lasting summer appearance.

If you need help to work out what products you need a professional consultation can help you achieve your summer glow.
