The Birth of Sapoi – A Pact, A Purpose, A Cup by Shveta and Chris

Sapoi didn’t begin as a business plan. It began as a conversation, two people sharing their stories, finding common ground in very different life journeys and realising we were seeking the same thing: to live with purpose, presence, and possibility.

Together, we co-founded Sapoi – a soulful Sticky Chai brand born from two powerful journeys of transformation and intention.

For me (Chris), the path to Sapoi began after five years battling end-stage kidney disease and receiving a life-saving transplant from a dear friend, a gift that offered me a second chance at life. With decades of success in executive leadership across corporate IT and financial services, my health journey became a catalyst for deep reflection on what truly matters. In 2025, I promised myself to live more intentionally and to give back in a way that felt aligned. For me, Sapoi is more than chai; it’s a meaningful ritual that honours life, connection, and purpose.

For me (Shveta), the journey began after more than 20 years excelling in the IT industry – rising through the ranks, mentoring women in technology, challenging industry norms and advocating for diversity. Alongside this, my own healing journey led me to support hundreds in reconnecting with their energy, intuition, and inner truth through healing sessions, rituals, podcasts, and blogs. I also shared my story in my book Birthing the Newness. Drawing from Ayurvedic wisdom passed down by my grandmother, Sapoi became the natural extension of my path, a ritual in a cup, crafted to help people slow down, be present, and reconnect with themselves, one mindful sip at a time.

As our individual healing journeys unfolded, our paths crossed. It felt less like coincidence and more like alignment. We shared a vision to create something sacred, something that would nourish both ourselves and others. Our desire for purposeful living crystallised into the idea of chai that was more than a drink: a ritual, a moment of stillness, and a connection to self and others.

Sapoi was born from that pact — a shared promise to infuse meaning into every blend.
