Spring. That gentle breeze that brushes away the cobwebs of winter. A season filled with glimmer moments – plants bursting upward, light returning and the air becoming more uplifting. A time surrounded by beauty and, for me, a reminder to honour our own intrinsic beauty.
September 1 has always felt like a doorway. Blooming with legacy, myth and unapologetic magic.
Firstly, it’s my maternal grandparents’ wedding anniversary. Two souls who loved each other in a quiet, steadfast way that never required an audience. Not performative, but rebellious in its simplicity. They chose substance over appearances and taught me one of my earliest truths about beauty – it can glow without trying.
Then there’s the first calendar day of Spring. That moment when the world stops apologising and simply blossoms. Nature doesn’t seek permission to return to colour or wait until it ‘feels’ ready. It just emerges, wholeheartedly. There is something elegantly rebellious about that. Spring reminds us that beauty is deeply intrinsic.
And because spring is the season of Air, it feels like home for me. I’m a Libran with both a Gemini Moon and Rising – a triple Air soul who flourishes in currents of clarity. Air is the breath that returns after winter, the breeze that shakes loose what’s stale, the mischievous gust that nudges us forward. Air doesn’t force; it invites. And Spring channels this same Elegant Rebel® energy – the unapologetic decision to be, without external validation.
And then, as Spring opens its doorway of Air and emergence, my thoughts always drift to Persephone, the mythic queen of descent and return. Her story is woven throughout my life. Persephone’s rise is the ultimate tale of unapologetic youness. She doesn’t shrink or explain. She simply is. One of my feline familiars even carried her name, with the same regal mischief. She’s reminder that beauty can be both soft and elegantly rebellious.
These threads – legacy, Spring, Air, myth – weave themselves into the truth I’ve learned through my Happiness Coach training and now through my Soul-led Mentoring and Acceptance Guide work: intrinsic beauty appears the moment you stop performing and start remembering who you are.
It’s the radiance of a kind heart, the glow of compassion, the quiet strength shown in adversity and the resilience and grace that accompany humility.
Outer beauty is conditional and fleeting. But the intrinsic beauty of your inner Elegant Rebel® is timeless and unwavering, regardless of external influences or circumstances. Like the glimmer of a gemstone or the brightness of a star. A glow that simply is.
Spring invites us to return to that glow. Blossoming in our youness is honouring our story without editing it. This is the heart of unapologetic youness: your radiance speaking for you, flowering in your own timing and glowing from within – not to be seen, but because you are finally seeing yourself.

When we embrace intrinsic beauty, we stop contorting ourselves into palatable shapes and start being our youest you. We stop waiting for permission to shine and start radiating. If I could leave you with one soul-led action, it is to always look beyond the surface. This is how you cherish your uniqueness, recognise the intrinsic beauty within every soul and be you in all your youness.
