The ripple begins when a woman says yes by Sarah King

Looking in the mirror, eyes not quite meeting the reflection. I wondered what the point was. Why did I keep trying? Why did I keep pushing myself? I was just a mum. Did I really have anything else to offer the world? Did I have any standout value?

The two most detrimental words in our society.
Just. A.

Along the way, we have forgotten.
For all of the stars to align for us to be here. On this Earth. At this very point.
And yet we program our beings to believe that we are less than the magical miracle that we are.

The amount of times I hear a woman say… “I’m just a….” I stagger, and what’s heartbreaking is we believe it’s true.

I’m here to share with you. You are not just a… anything!
You are everything.

And you have a story to share. Words that will inspire. A vision that will resonate. A teaching that needs to be taught.

YOU are the ripple this world needs.

I overheard two creative artists talking in a co-op shop today. They were saying that they don’t share on social media often, because the “way the world is”, they felt like it was the last thing that was needed.

Since when?

Since when did we choose to stop being the inspiration? To stop being the light another soul needs. To stop sharing our hearts, passions and purpose.

Because the “way the world is” I choose to show up more. I have expressed this over and over again on my podcast, women – it is time to stand up. To lead as our authentic self. To honour what this world has for us. To lean into the spotlight and with that the ripple echoes around the world. The frequency changes when one woman says Yes. Yes I will stand in my power. Unapologetically. The hiding in the shadows is over. And I do this for all of us.

That moment I looked in the mirror, and I said Yes… The words “just a…” disappeared from my inner dialogue, and I stepped into my power. I knew that I was here to show that my voice is valuable, and so is yours.

And this is the invitation I extend to you.

To notice where you have been minimising yourself.
To feel into the places where you’ve dimmed your light to make others comfortable.
To gently, bravely, choose something different.

You don’t need to be louder. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You simply need to be willing. Willing to be seen. Willing to be heard. Willing to trust that your presence alone carries impact.

The world doesn’t need less heart. It doesn’t need less creativity. It doesn’t need less women sharing their truth. It needs more of it. Especially now.

Your lived experience matters. Your wisdom matters. Your energy matters. When you allow yourself to be fully expressed, you don’t just change your own life. You give others permission to do the same.

So the next time you catch yourself saying “I’m just a…”
Pause.
Breathe.
And remember.

You are not just a mum.
Not just a creator.
Not just a woman finding her way.

You are a force.
You are a frequency.
And when you choose to step into the spotlight of your own life, the world shifts with you.
