I have just come off the back of my latest two-day Innovators Immersion with twelve extraordinary humans, and every time I hold this space, I leave feeling incredibly hopeful about the future.
Not because twelve new businesses were created.
But because twelve people chose to stop waiting and start building solutions.
As I looked around the room, I noticed something every single person had in common. None of them were there simply to make more money. They were there because they cared deeply about helping people.
One woman is creating a rehabilitation model that offers people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction a gentler pathway to healing. Another is designing floristry experiences that bring connection and joy to women navigating grief, loneliness and life’s many transitions. One family business realised they were never really in the jewellery business at all. They are in the business of preserving memories and celebrating life’s most meaningful moments.
That shift changes everything.
I believe one of the biggest mistakes we make in business is focusing on profit before people.
Of course, your business needs to be profitable. Profit allows you to grow, employ people, innovate and continue serving your community. But profit should never be the reason your business exists.
Instead, ask yourself three simple questions.
Who am I genuinely here to help? When you become crystal clear on the person you’re serving, your business naturally becomes more meaningful.
What transformation do people experience because of my work? They aren’t buying your product or service. They’re investing in how they will feel afterwards. More confident. More connected. More hopeful. More free.
How can I serve even better? Every decision in your business becomes easier when your focus shifts from “What do I get?” to “What can I give?”
The beautiful irony is that when you become obsessed with creating extraordinary experiences for people, profit often follows naturally.
The world does not need more businesses chasing money.
It needs more conscious leaders creating solutions.
If you’ve been carrying an idea that keeps returning to you, perhaps it isn’t there by accident. Perhaps it’s your invitation to build something that genuinely leaves the world better than you found it.
That is exactly why I created the Innovators Immersion. To help purpose-driven business owners transform inspired ideas into practical, profitable businesses that serve humanity, because the future belongs to those courageous enough to build it.
Big Love, Abbey Rose
