Have all your plans been shattered with no vision of hope?
Scared of something and all you do is just think about that one thing?
Ever sat at the dinner table and you just can’t eat anything because you’re still thinking? The food looks delicious, but you can’t be bothered eating.
Well you’re not alone and you are OK!
We all have a brain, a body, and a mind that sometimes feeds us the wrong type of thoughts. This month’s column is about how to not bring fear to the dinner table, allowing knowledge to lead the table with food for our soul.
BRAIN- Fear is a reactive part of our brain. It responds to perceived acute stress, which leads to hormones being released. This activates the sympathetic nervous system, or flight or flight response.
BODY- The sympathetic nervous system in turn stimulates the pituitary gland and adrenal glands releasing adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol. Initially, this can assist with becoming ready to handle the onset of stress.
NERVES- If too much of these ‘stress hormones’ keep being released, our immune system and health can become weak, sending a vulnerable message or thought throughout our system.
EMOTIONS- We can become stuck in this emotional wasted energy of fear and worry. Our emotions create our thoughts and vice versa, forming, manifesting reality, with less immunity to fight off the emotion of fear.
HEART- In this space of fear, fighting the flight becomes the new strain on the mind, the body and the spirit. In a space of despair, the thought of this can manifest into stressed physical feelings felt within the heart. We can lose our common sense through being stuck in fear and it can weaken our heart energy. The ruler of the table now becomes fear.
For some people, mental health issues can persist and continue to create problems with ‘digesting life’. With an unbalanced table of fear being their daily food. What we need to do now is to reverse the polarisation and reboot the immune system via the nervous system, by taking a different approach and shifting our brain-body out of fight or flight mode into a rest and digest/parasympathetic nervous system space.
My recommendation is to surround yourself with people who you feel comfortable with, and find a place you feel warmth within, where you can energise, rest and re-evaluate life. Change your thinking, seek peace, not chaos, and create yourself some simple affirmations, here is one below…

I know that gradually, ever so gradually, I am growing and changing.
By doing this we will create a newfound space within and a new pathway of approaching an awkward situation in the future. Allow yourself a moment to change your focus…
Shift from a state of fear to love. This can simply be knowledge of what fear creates, when it’s given food for thought.
We can lose sight of the simple aspects of ourselves and of life, if we allow fear to encompass us. Connecting in with someone or something brings us hope. The easiest attribute to hope with no denomination is to have faith in something!
Looking forward to something brings in a space for gratefulness to occur, which is an aspect of hope. Connecting yourself to a thought of being grateful actually is the message of hope.

BE GRATEFUL
Being grateful for what you have now, rather than what you don’t have, instantly lifts you out of the fight or flight moment, into the field of empathy and understanding of what’s truly important. Connect with loved ones, take a walk in nature, have a conversation out of the blue with a stranger, sharing a story of hope faith and laughter. A simple conversation can leave the vibrational feeling of joy.
JOY and laughter have been known and scientifically proven to raise your vibrations creating happiness within. It’s a natural boost to the immune system, available to us whenever we reach a state of excitement. Practice a new routine of being grateful for something each day as you awaken. Exercise daily – walking, stretching, dancing, yoga and swimming. Take time out to focus on your breathing! Allow yourself some form of access to nature… in person or in a virtual video. Continue with communication and adding to your knowledge. Enjoy the essence of joy and being grateful. These practices will bring you towards inner peace.
PEACE within and without yourself and your surroundings. A new vibration of comfort will arise beneath your skin, bringing a new way of feeling and knowledge of embracing the pillar of life with love.
LOVE
Acknowledge that love is the highest vibration of all as you allow it to feed you comfort, nourish you, teach you, show you the many levels and layers of love that await you, for love conquers over fear. Allow love to lead you within your mind, body, and soul, filling your spirit with new thoughts, feeding you with soul food for your table of life.
