Firstly, I’d like to share how Aloha massage is different and way easier to give to your clients – who are the customers. Over the years, I am constantly surprised by their reaction to my massage treatments: “That was the best massage of my life!”
(And that’s what they say without me even asking, “How was it?”)
So, from the feedback I’ve received, there’s no wonder why I’m so biased, as the results ‘speak for themselves!’ What I’d like to emphasise is how easy it is to give, and how much fun it is to learn.
Last month, I mentioned all the things you probably never knew about giving massage. Now I’ll share the good points and the plus side of my Aloha Massage. It’s my massage system that’s called the ‘Aloha way’ (the methodology).
By using your arms (the soft underside of your forearms, & not the elbows), it’s easy to give using long, flowing moves over the client’s body, which feels like waves washing away all their stress! And using a practice for your footwork – called ‘Flying’ makes it flow, as you glide down one side of their back and then alternate to the other side. This creates a balanced massage treatment for your client’s body.
This is what makes it flow so well because it saves your hands, wrists and back from burning out! It also helps you connect with your client more easily and deeply. It creates the right pressure they require and does it more easily than standing in one place, using the force of your arm and hand pressure for doing massage.
I cannot help but say how well using your arms works for giving Aloha Massage. And your clients appreciate how you create the right pressure that is very smooth while you’re moving around them and covering their whole body! They can tell from the moment you start, because it feels so relaxing and releases their stress and tension; plus, they know you’re a professional right away.
In fact, giving with Aloha Massage could be just the opportunity and empowerment you’re looking for; that’s ‘staring you in the face!’ So, stick with me as I share this with you;-
My story starts while I was (unfortunately) getting divorced.
A good friend was studying Vedic Astrology and offered me a chart reading, while I was wanting to find out what would happen in the romance area of my life, so I said okay. Well, to my surprise, he gave me lots of information on all sorts of different occupations: as a sheep farmer, crop growing, and even mining! (But nothing about where my relationship was headed).
However, one comment he made stuck in my mind: “I would be suited to anything to do with healing.” At that time I didn’t have a clue as to what that could mean, let alone how to find out about it. He said my purpose was to give service, and my work was with people. I let go of it at the time because I didn’t really understand what it could be, as I had mainly been farming for the past 10 years.
About three months later, another friend had seen an ad in the paper for a Shiatsu course (Japanese massage) and asked me if I wanted to come and do it with him. That’s when I remembered what I was told in the reading, so I thought, okay, why not? Let’s go and do it! I’ll try that out, even though it was quite different to anything I had ever thought of doing.
Well, I liked it so much I took to it with a passion, practising on all my friends. Before long, I was giving 2 treatments every evening to the people I knew because I wanted to be really good at it! They commented on how good they felt and how relaxing it was, and they liked receiving Shiatsu from me.
So that’s how I started doing my service of giving healing by massaging people. I went on to practice it for the next two years, as I studied to gain a Diploma of Chinese massage while half-completing an Acupuncture Degree. I found it very hard and dropped out, as I was distracted by what became my next relationship of 4 years. (Where I let go of practising my massage and healing).
After this relationship failed, I had to come back to the personal growth issues that I needed to deal with from these two breakups. I began and have continued to learn and grow from them by practising my self-development ever since.
Then, by sharing with a housemate, I found out what I recognised as something I knew nothing about but felt drawn to plunge into and learn. This was Hawaiian Temple bodywork, a style of massage I had never received, but I felt intrigued to learn because of what the ancient Kahunas taught and the healing processes they practised. They were considered powerful shamans, and I was challenged by the way my life could be changed! And also inspired to continue the journey I was on.
Then it happened!
The Training Retreat was very deep, and I experienced the most profound shift of my life from it! By my willingness to participate fully, I received the transformation I was seeking – right to the core of my heart. So much so that I realised this was my second ‘calling’. Which is why I have continued to practice Aloha Massage for the past 27 years. That’s why I did three more Training Retreats in a short time after the first one and fully embodied this healing practice.
And by following my intuition – what I’ve been drawn to; & the messages I’ve received (as if from a Higher Power, whom I call ‘Great Spirit’), I’ve changed the direction of my life.
This is why I’m calling you to follow your path, “Whatever it is and wherever it may take you;” – to find meaning and gain your purpose in life!
