7 Tips to Ignite Your New Year Journey by Vikki Speller

As the new year unfolds, it gifts us the opportunity to reflect upon what’s important to us and holds the promise of new possibilities. Growing up, I used to excitedly write an extravagant list of New Year’s resolutions with the promise to myself that I will definitely achieve them all! While I stayed true to some of my resolutions, others, well, let’s just stay they were long forgotten only a couple of weeks in.

Have you ever started your new year making promises to yourself, and if you failed to keep those promises, felt guilty that you couldn’t stick to your goals? You may get to the end of another year and realise nothing has changed or when you go to set your new year resolutions you find yourself not having a clear understanding of what it is you even want to achieve. I feel at some point in our lives we have all been on this new year’s resolution rollercoaster together!

While there are those who have given up on the idea of resolutions, I feel that as we stand on the cusp of a new year, there’s a gentle collective energy that whispers promise of fresh starts and untapped potential. Although now days rather than thinking about what I want to achieve within the upcoming year, I prefer to approach this time as an invitation to connect to self, and feel deeply into my soul’s wisdom to receive the answers.

This approach of going on a soulful journey combined with holistic practical tools has assisted me in manifesting some truly amazing results within my personal self-development, spiritual awareness and professional coaching business.

I’m excited to share with you my top seven tips that have helped me within my life, hoping they will bring you as much magic as they’ve brought me!

1. Set Intentional Resolutions: Beyond Traditional Goal Setting

As the world buzzes with resolutions and goal setting, let’s take a different approach. Begin your new year by setting intentional resolutions that align with your soul’s desires. Either sit in silence or play some calming music while you allow yourself the space to reflect on the aspects of your life that need nurturing; whether it’s your spiritual practice, holistic wellness, or personal or professional development, and set resolutions that emanate from the depths of your being. Hold the intention of connecting with your higher self and allow your soul to share its wisdom. Create goals around the wisdom received.

2. Create a Vision Board for Manifestation: Visualization Magic

Once you have uncovered your main goals for the year it’s time to tap into the power of visualization by crafting a vision board that paints the picture of your ideal journey. Gather images, quotes, and symbols that resonate with your aspirations to create your visual representation. Ensure the items you choose to place on your vision board evokes the emotions you wish to feel around each goal. The vision board can then become a daily reminder of your intentions, grounding your dreams in the physical realm, aligning with the vibrational energy of the universe and setting the stage for manifestation.

3. Cultivate Mindfulness in Daily Rituals: The Art of Being Present

We live in a world of technology and instant gratification where it can be easy to lose touch with the present moment due to the rush of everyday life. Incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily rituals can help ground you into the here and now. By practicing small acts of mindfulness such as savouring your cup of tea in the morning, taking a mindful walk by feeling the connection of each step as your feet touches the earth, or consciously connecting to your breath throughout the day. Cultivating mindfulness creates a foundation for a centred and intentional year.

4. Nurture Your Spiritual Practice: A Sanctuary for the Soul

Connect within and embrace your spiritual beliefs; whether you follow a specific spiritual path or a broader sense of spirituality, the new year is a time of opportunity to deepen your connection. Create a routine within your daily or weekly practice that enhances your spirituality and allows you the space to get to know yourself on a deeper level; whether it’s through prayer, meditation, or rituals that resonate with your soul. Revisit your spiritual practices, or explore new paths for growth and development. 

5. Embrace an Attitude of Gratitude: The Universes Love Language

Take a moment to reflect on the past year with gratitude, acknowledging the lessons learnt, any challenges you’ve overcome, and the moments that filled your heart with joy; both big and small. Start a gratitude journal filling the pages with words of heartfelt appreciation for all you feel grateful for in your life. You may wish to start a morning or evening ritual aiming for at least 5 things to reflect upon and journal daily to keep you in the flow of the art of gratitude.

6. Engage in Holistic Self-Care: Wellbeing Rituals

Holistic living extends beyond the spiritual and mental realms, it encompasses the wellbeing of your body. It’s important to prioritize self-care practices that nourish your physical health. Whether it’s a walk on the beach, a rejuvenating yoga session, a nourishing meal, or going for a massage, all of which treats your body as a sacred vessel deserving of love and care. Remember to put your physical health as a priority throughout the year.

7. Creating a Consistency Plan: Align with Your Lifestyle

Crafting a consistency plan involves understanding your unique lifestyle and rhythms. Identify triggers, set specific actions, and establish routines that seamlessly integrate within your daily life. Whether it’s your spiritual rituals, self-care routines, personal development or professional goals, consistency enhances the transformative power of your efforts. You may wish to use a planner, or a journal specially tailored to your goals or have an ‘accountability partner’ to help stay on track.

As you step into the new year, remember that your journey is uniquely yours. Embrace the holistic principles that resonate with your soul, and let them guide you toward a year of growth, joy, and fulfillment. Here’s to a soulful new year, filled with infinite possibilities and the magic of the universe.
