Push harder. Show up more. Do the things. Be consistent. Be disciplined.
And while those things can have their place… they can also disconnect us from ourselves completely.
Lately, I’ve been exploring a different way.
A softer way.
Softening into my life has looked like choosing calm over chaos.
Walking instead of feeling like I should do all the things.
Letting things be simple instead of overwhelming.
And most importantly- listening.
Because when we soften, we can finally hear ourselves again.
And this doesn’t just apply to how we live… it deeply affects how we create.
As a book publisher working with heart-centred, spiritual authors, I see it all the time-
people trying to force their writing.
Sitting down thinking they should write.
Pushing words onto a page that don’t feel quite right.
Second-guessing every sentence.
But writing, like life, isn’t meant to be forced.
It’s meant to be felt.
Your most powerful words don’t come from pressure.
They come from presence.
They come in the quiet moments.
On a walk. In the shower. When you finally exhale.
They come when you feel safe enough to be honest.
Softening into your writing might look like:
Letting go of timelines that feel heavy.
Writing a few sentences instead of a full chapter.
Trusting what wants to come through, even if it doesn’t make sense yet.
Because your words carry energy.
And people don’t just read what you write-they feel it.
When your writing comes from softness, from truth, from a regulated and open space… it lands differently. It connects. It resonates.
So if you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, this is your permission slip to soften.
In your life.
In your body.
And in your words.
You don’t have to push your way into your next chapter.
You get to soften your way into it.
