Building an Online Presence from Scratch: A Case Study on Creating an Effective Digital Footprint
Sandy is the founder of Simply Better Health, a holistic health coaching business based in Melbourne Australia. For years, Sandy had worked in a clinic, she worked long hours building another’s business up and supporting and transforming clients lives. Yet she was still unfulfilled and had this nagging calling to step out on her own. At this stage, she had no marketing plan in place and no online presence beyond her book ‘Simple Truths’. She relied on word-of-mouth referrals. While this approach had worked for her in the past, Sandy realised that she needed to expand her reach and attract new clients to grow her business. She knew she needed to improve her online footprint.
That’s when Sandy reached out to In2Web Marketing, at the time we did websites, social media and Customer relationship management (CRM) support plus all the bits that come along with each of those pieces.
As a Queensland based digital marketing agency that specialises in helping small businesses in the health and wellness space develop a strong online presence. After an initial consultation, we put together a comprehensive digital marketing plan, which was reviewed frequently, for Sandy that included a new website, social media accounts, email marketing campaigns, and online courses.
The first step in the plan was to build a new website for Simply Better Health. We (the team and I) worked closely with Sandy to understand her business and her vision for the website. We designed a site that was easy to navigate, visually appealing, and optimised for search engines. The website included information about Sandy’s services, client testimonials, and a blog where Sandy could share her expertise and insights. It was integrated with her CRM so all forms had automated follow-up in place – what we call an automated marketing website, compared to a static online brochure website.
Next, we supported Sandy to establish a presence on social media. We set up accounts for Simply Better Health on Facebook, and YouTube and helped Sandy create a consistent brand across all platforms. We also developed a content strategy for social media that focused on providing value to potential clients and showcasing Sandy’s expertise in holistic health.
To further expand Sandy’s reach, we recommended that she start an email marketing campaign. The e-marketing campaigns help build a mailing list of current and potential clients and a series of follow-up emails provide useful information about health and wellness and promoted Sandy’s services. It was now super easy for people to go to Sandy’s website, pay and then book in for a consultation. Sandy just had to show up for the call and put an end to the back-and-forth emails trying to work out a mutually beneficial time to meet, it took care of the invoice and there was no need for Sandy to chase up outstanding invoices.
Finally, using the Wisdom2Wealth Systems, we helped Sandy create online courses that she could offer to clients. Together we developed the course materials, set up a platform for delivering the courses, and marketed them to her mailing list and social media followers.
The results of In2Web Marketing’s efforts were impressive. Sandy’s website began to attract new clients, and her social media accounts helped her connect with people outside of her local area. Her email marketing campaigns resulted in a significant increase in inquiries and bookings, and her online courses were a hit with clients who wanted to learn more.
