Hey it’s mid-November soon to be December…
Where did the year disappear to?
I remember talking back in January about the busy year ahead we were prepping up, family functions around the mercury retrograde, super full moons – to only now breeze into November/December.
My body was in need of rejuvenation in September. We did a small quick weekend trip away. Fortunately for me, I have a hubby who is driven by his senses and cultural instinct.
There are those out there who could be experiencing one of the hardest years ever faced in life.
And still they manage to get themselves to work, eat food and smile.
It’s what lies on the inside and beneath our skin that no-one really sees or actual listens to.
Life does seem to consume us one way or the other, and at these moments, we need good food for the mind to thrive, exercise of some form for the body to unwind, and a little something to soothe the soul. Mine that month was chocolate, and yes, I’m seriously going to resume my extra intake of beach running this summer.. hmmm run off that extra chocolate for the soul.

You may hear a friend say one day.
“It is like I’m on a treadmill and it keeps turning and so do I.”
Do we have a choice?
My answer is… YES
We have free will and can change our mind, choose a different outfit, pray to God or drive a different way to work. Even quit your job and take time out – use your superfund and fund yourself a soul vacation to rewire your mind, body, and soul.
There is a great book that I am reading at the moment that talks about the vagus nerve and how we can rewire and retrain ourselves with understanding ourselves internally. With the vacation season up ahead, a lot of people take annual leave during the school vacation season here in Australia. A good book is always the perfect solution for those fortunate enough to be soaking up the sun.
Maybe for you it’s a cup of tea, talk with a friend or the latest thriller at the movie stand.
For the busy routine worker there lies a different timeline – for they do not know how to stop, or turn off the chatting mind of do, must do now, scenario…
My husband is not a coffee or tea drinker, although recently he started to prepare tea in the morning and take it to work in a hot thermos container.
??? What was he thinking?? Everyone else thought what was he thinking???
He has found a new morning ritual for himself. An approach to the morning – creating a daily act of peace and quiet for self, by self creating his flavoursome brews. Sometimes it’s lemon and ginger, pomegranate, honey bush orange and mandarin.
This tea ceremony has become his new journey of discovery. From something ‘out of the blue’ which in turn has led to creating an alone time to sit contemplate and relax throughout his heavy landscaping day.
Normally it would be on the go, work through morning tea and if there was turf to lay, a break wouldn’t come through until mid-late afternoon.
Now I’m not suggesting that you all go out and have more tea breaks.
(Although this would be a great suggestion to the boss, to assist team bonding)
One is simply implying that sometimes we need to look at a different angle or view of what we can do differently to help us smooth through life a little easier.
Tea is naturally rich in many plant compounds that support brain function and well-being, including antioxidants, amino acids and sometimes there are small amounts of caffeine.
These compounds reduce inflammation in the brain which can cause cognitive fatigue and brain fog. Herbal teas are made from the camellia sinensis plant.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract is also known as green tea and there are many varieties of green tea that are formulated in skincare for their skin benefits and even used as perfume. Other teas contain an amount of L-theanine, a unique amino acid that promotes relaxation and stress relief.
Interesting enough, my husband used to suffer from brain fog a few years back, with tests and several doctor visits brought him no relief – only for him to choose an elimination process of food and diet intake. Once again I have witnessed his amazing listening into his body receiving an answer from his soul with the new morning tea routine.
A new daily act of his own accord, a listening into his intuition, and an answer to his quiet prayer.
Does tea calm the mind?
Relax and improve your health?
Data suggests that some herbal teas, like lemon balm, chamomile, holy basil, and lavender, may help people feel a sense of calm.
Can the calming act of sipping on a cup of tea, be just the little reminder needed to rest, reset and rewind the year down ready for contemplation?
Certainly I think my hubby does, as at this time of year he always says…
“Anyone would think Christmas just landed on the calendar, as everyone wants it done by then.”
Don’t know about you…
Or how are you going?
How was your year?
What got you through this year?
Is there a new trick up your sleeve, ready to be explored…?
